Shavuot at Yeshivat Talpiot:
Re-reading the Torah from Ancient Israel to today
In anticipation of Shavuot, the evening biet midrash at Yeshivat Talpiot will focus on the different voices that have commented on the Bible. We will trace the Rabbinic Midrashic tradition of commentary to its roots in early commentators from the Second Temple Period and compare with the better known voices of the Midrash. Shoshana Cohen will be leading a chaburah- interactive style conversation so that the voices of the tradition will join with ours of today. For more information click here for our hebrew site.

Summer at Yeshivat Talpiot (Ellul Z'man):Our flagship program, one month of intensive learning in Jerusalem, was a phenomenal success in 2011.
During Elul we create a space where traditional and academic modes of learning are fused. We challenge our students to see their learning as a laboratory where they experiment with ideas that will shape their religious life and commitments beyond the classroom. The cadre of Israeli students are empowered to impact their communities, making them more committed to social justice, genderequality, and Jewish learning.
